About Photographer Giorgio Niro
I started my career in photography at The Calgary Herald newspaper, followed by my first independent commercial studio, in Calgary Canada 1981.
In Calgary I was fortunate to work with many, many people and organizations. From Olympic Silver medalist Carolyn Waldo to cancer survivor and research advocate Steve Fonyo, from Ogilvy & Mather to the smallest ad agency in town. During my time in Calgary I worked for Shell Oil, Molson's, and many independent fashion designers, hair stylist, artists, models, musicians, private companies and individuals. I had a blast.
I moved to Toronto Canada, in 1986 setting up shop on lower Spadina Rd and continued my photography in a large modern studio, all the while concentrating on shooting people, fashion catalog and advertising for a large variety of clients. In 1989 the Big City draw proved too strong to overcome and I moved to NYC settling in the Gramercy Park area.
Today I live in Bronxville with my family, I shoot on location or in studio world wide at the direction of my client.
